1944 X Cell Batteries for field telephones-VERY RARE

In all the years I have been involved in militaria and WW2 signals equipment these are the first genuine WW2 batteries I have come across, my surprise on finding them still in situ after the passing of 70 years was considerable I can tell you!

One was clearly stamped 1944 and this one has gone in my collection, the remaining 3 cells (all recovered from a remote control unit where they had clearly sat since it was put into store and then sold off) have unclear completely faded dates but they all came from the same batch of 4.

These batteries were used in many items, from Field Telephones to Remote Control Units.
